Residents Worry Of Repeated Lightning Flood

The Irrigation and Drainage Department (JPS) is expected to be able to assess the need to deal with the recurring flash flood problem in Village Block C and B, Ampangan in Seremban. According to Transport Minister and Member of Parliament for Seremban, Anthony Loke, the two settlements located on the edge of Sungai Linggi are often hit by flash floods every time it rains heavily. Residents are restless every time it rains heavily because their homes are easily flooded.

A long-term Flood Mitigation Plan (RTB) needs to be held in the settlement involved to ensure that flash floods do not continue to happen again. He also hopes that a long-term solution can be found here by the JPS together with the state government so that the residents of this area will no longer be affected by floods. Although there are many areas in Seremban that were previously exposed to flash floods, many have been successfully resolved.

His party hopes that this area, which has the status of a black area due to flash floods, can be overcome as soon as possible. Although every time flood aid is given to the victims, the losses they suffer every time the disaster strikes are great. Although implementing the RTB project involves large allocations, the state government is expected to seek allocations from the Federal Government through the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
