Flooding In Port Dickson Caused By Big Tide Phenomenon

TAMPIN – The phenomenon of high tide has caused several locations in the Port Dickson district to experience flooding problems since last Tuesday.

Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the phenomenon was recorded at its highest yesterday and was made worse by continuous heavy rain for more than four hours.

“This incident has occurred in many states. It is not a drainage problem but the sea level is higher than on land. However, JPS needs to look into this problem so that it does not happen again,” he said when attending the Khatam Hafaz Al-Quran Convocation Ceremony and the 13th Excellence Award for the Negeri Sembilan Tahfiz Al-Quran Institute (Itqan), here today.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Port Dickson Officer, Captain (PA) Mohd. Azri Abu Hassan said that from yesterday until this morning, a total of four temporary evacuation centres (PPS) have been opened in the district.
