Flash Flood, Fallen Trees In Seremban, Port Dickson

PORT DICKSON: Several areas in Seremban and Port Dickson experienced flash floods and fallen trees following the heavy rain and storm this morning.

According to the Negeri Sembilan Civil Defense Force (APM) Disaster Management Secretariat, the locations affected by flash floods are Block C, Kampung Ismail, Ampangan, Kampung Paroi, several areas in Rasah, Seremban, but no victims have been moved to temporary evacuation centers.

Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said that in addition to flash floods, incidents of fallen trees also occurred in Taman Intan Duyung and Kampung Teluk Kemang, Bagan Pinang here early this morning.

“The Seremban District and Land Office and the Port Dickson Municipal Council (MPPD) took immediate steps to help the victims of the flash flood and the fallen tree incident.

“The local authorities also went down to the location to ensure that all the needs of these affected individuals are taken into account and immediate action can be taken,” he told reporters at the JIWA Community MADANI Program at the Port Dickson Parliamentary Level in conjunction with Korban Perdana here today.

Aminuddin said his party would replace the roof of the house damaged by the storm and the law enforcement officers involved would also carry out cleaning and removal of fallen trees.

A Bernama survey found that flash floods in some affected areas have receded and residents are working together to clean their respective areas.
